Distribution of endemic tree species!
Since the distribution area of endemic tree species is relatively wide, the classification ‘domestic wood’ in competition notices or product declarations does not guarantee that the wood used was indeed sourced in local forests. As a rule, wood can be transported from distant locations, which is no longer environment friendly, as is illustrated in the cases below. The maps are adapted from the EUFORGEN platform.
