Description	The Paterzell yew forest was declared a nature conservation area as early as 1939 and is now a state natural monument. More than 2000 old yew trees grow here, which is unique in Germany's forests. According to the IUCN, yew is the only tree species in Europe that is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List.

In ihm wachsen über 2000 alte Eiben was einzigartig in Deutschlands Wäldern ist. Eiben zählen heute laut IUCN als einzige Baumart in Europa zu den gefährdeten Baumenarten der Roten Liste von IUCN.
