"Heimische Holzarten" in Ausschreibungen oder Produkten zu verlangen reicht nicht aus, wenn man sicher gehen möchte, dass das verwendete Holz aus dem heimischen Wald stammt, denn die Verbreitungsgebiete der potentiell heimischen Holzarten sind sehr weit. Das Holz kann prinzipiell aus langen Entfernungen kommen, was nicht klimafreundlich ist. Dies ist im folgenden an ausgewählten Beispielen gezeigt. Die Karten stammen von der Europäischen Plattform EUFORGEN.
